Program Director, Berkeley County First Steps

Abigail Santiago has worked with Berkeley County First Steps since 2018 and currently serves as the Program Director.

Prior to this, she served as both the HealthySteps coordinator and Certified Community Health Worker, where her primary focus was helping both Berkeley County’s Latino families and other families with newborns.

Among her many contributions, she organized quarterly HealthySteps community convenings, spoke at conferences, and completed training in the Touchpoints Parenting
Program and the FAN approach.

“Having the opportunity to support children and families, including Latino families, is very important to me,” she says. “I’m passionate about helping families in my community eliminate barriers and connect with resources available to them that they may not know about otherwise.”

Abigail holds a Bachelor of Science degree in health promotion from Charleston Southern University.
